Marion General Cardiac Rehab is provided on an outpatient basis in our special facilities located on the first floor of Marion General Hospital. Participants typically spend six to 12 weeks in the program, attending cardiac rehabilitation for approximately one hour a day, three days a week.

During the first portion of outpatient cardiac rehabilitation (commonly known as Cardiac Rehab Phase II), you are supervised and will have your heart monitored by specially trained cardiac rehabilitation nurses. Once Phase II is finished, participants can elect to remain in the program through Phase III. In Phase III, you are no longer wearing the wireless heart monitor, yet we continue to supervise your progress.

As an added benefit, Marion General Cardiac Rehab offers a spousal program, that allows your spouse/loved one to participate in and help support you during the exercise regimen.

In addition to the exercise program, educational classes are conducted to help you and your loved ones learn more about ways of reducing your risk factors; how to better manage stress; eating a more heart-healthy diet; setting up your own exercise plan for home; and much more.
